After reading a very heated debate about weight loss, fat people settling to be fat because they are too lazy to do something (not an opinion I share) and so on, just got me really thinking about it. Sometimes we aren’t over weight because we are lazy. It could be various reasons that involve lifestyle, stress, anxiety, peer pressure and so on. Either way, having the courage to make a change is a huge deal. Just as much as a thin person is upset that they have gained weight and has to adjust, just because someone has lost 30 pounds and they celebrate or 100 pounds and they celebrate, it doesn’t mean it’s any less of a struggle. I think every day that my personality will seem different when I am smaller. As a larger girl, I had a way about myself that was perceived a certain way. As a thinner person, will that be contrived as over the top? Do I have to compensate for the lack of inches on my waist. Heck maybe I should eat another slice of pizza… The point I am trying to make, big or small, skinny or fat, short or tall, no one is perfect, we shouldn’t settle because it’s easy. But what we should do is find the place in our own bodies that will make us feel complete and satisfied. I know it will take adjusting to being small, but it’s where I want to be. I think people should have the same understanding that a plus size lady didn’t settle, she’s in the place in her life that makes her happy. Period.
But on a much happier note, I want to celebrate my struggle to date. Sure, maybe my friends don’t say anything, and people don’t see it. But I do, and these photos show it. So I’m having a me moment.

November 2007 Front Back
So later this afternoon I will endeavour to do some baking. I am going to make my Nanny’s rockin shortbread cookies and then I am going to make bark. My bark is what I call poor man’s bark. It’s made with soda crackers, butter, brown sugar and chocolate… strange mix. But oh my goodness is it ever good!
So that is what I’m up to later this afternoon. Going to enjoy this free time while it lasts. With the job interviews buzzing about, I’m bound to be employed sooner than later and this free time will be no more.
I’ll update later with pics of my wonderful holiday snackables which are so not Weight Watchers friendly. Well they can be, in moderation.
Waking up and having a great hair day today was only the beginning! The hair really was just straightened with a blow dryer, then a hot iron, but boy it looked good if I do say so myself!
Went to a job interview. It went exceptionally well, the pay is moderate, but if nothing else came up, I’d gladly accept it.
After which I engaged in some window shopping with a friend and we had a great time eyeballing some hot deals at Old Navy, and some sweet Christmas stuff at Pier 1 and Winners.
Once I got back uptown, just after I got a call for yet another interview with another Irving company, an old high school friend of mine walked into United, gave me a big hug and we chatted for a few. Then we took off to check out the land he bought uptown and the house is renting, while they build. Too nice! So all in all it has been a super fantastic Wednesday!
It’s great to be posting about super fantastic. To close my post,I’m gonna go old school with a photo that makes me smile!

A friend of mine set me up with my own space out here in cyber land. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Jessica.

I love photography, theatre, a good book and will watch anything that’s been on a reel at least once. I do adore the classics, but am also a fan of new film. I have a cat, who has been there through the thick and thin of the past few years of my life. His name is Harry.

I fill my time with creative projects, and sometime I even play some World of Warcraft. Sometimes when I play my Gnome, I even have a cat, just like Harry.

But currently my main love is taking pictures of everything in sight. Eventually I’d like to do something with this hobby, but what that is yet I’m not quite sure. I plan on using this space for some of those photos. Eventually I will link what I call my Food Lovin’ Blog with has followed my weight loss trials with Weight Watchers. So hello world! Here are some photos for your viewing pleasure!
