Just a little bit of me me me

After reading a very heated debate about weight loss, fat people settling to be fat because they are too lazy to do something (not an opinion I share) and so on, just got me really thinking about it. Sometimes we aren’t over weight because we are lazy. It could be various reasons that involve lifestyle, stress, anxiety, peer pressure and so on. Either way, having the courage to make a change is a huge deal. Just as much as a thin person is upset that they have gained weight and has to adjust, just because someone has lost 30 pounds and they celebrate or 100 pounds and they celebrate, it doesn’t mean it’s any less of a struggle. I think every day that my personality will seem different when I am smaller. As a larger girl, I had a way about myself that was perceived a certain way. As a thinner person, will that be contrived as over the top? Do I have to compensate for the lack of inches on my waist. Heck maybe I should eat another slice of pizza… The point I am trying to make, big or small, skinny or fat, short or tall, no one is perfect, we shouldn’t settle because it’s easy. But what we should do is find the place in our own bodies that will make us feel complete and satisfied. I know it will take adjusting to being small, but it’s where I want to be. I think people should have the same understanding that a plus size lady didn’t settle, she’s in the place in her life that makes her happy. Period.

But on a much happier note, I want to celebrate my struggle to date. Sure, maybe my friends don’t say anything, and people don’t see it. But I do, and these photos show it. So I’m having a me moment. :-)

Thank you Jess. I believe that this is an important topic and also - sometimes I get the same crap but in the reverse. I’ve encountered some very large girls who haven’t found that place you speak of and they’ve been horribly mean to me just because I’m a “skinny little bitch” and thats not fair either. You’ve seen my struggle as I’ve seen yours, we know that it does go both ways. We know that its just as hard either way and sometimes finding your own happy place is just as much a fight as trying to reach the zone where society thinks we’re supposed to be. Not to make light of your topic but: Why can’t we all just be unhappy together? ~xo stay awesome lady.
