Musings of Hump Day

So I went and got the damage appraised on my poor car. Just under $2000.00! Apparently when the other car hit mine, it went up underneath the passenger’s side rear, and put a major dent in my trunk casing under the car. The back bumper is all broken on the inside, however on the outside it doesn’t look as bad as I guess it us up underneath. The guy was surprised at the amount of damage but once he told me the damages to his car, I’m not surprised at all.

My EI should be in this week, so I am impatiently waiting to be able to pay some bills and take care of some Christmas shopping. I have my shopping list made I just need to get out and get it done. I also need to get pictures done ASAP in order for them to be edited, printed and framed for Christmas. (My Mom and Nan want portraits of me, so I’m giving them each one for Christmas)

I’ve spent some time putting together what I am going cook for this years Yankee Swap and dinner. I am going to bake the usual Ham. As well I am going to roast potatoes and sweet potatoes, steam some garlic green beans, and Hilary usually makes dessert, mind you I haven’t a clue what she has decided on. Should be a good time. I always enjoy that event, last year combined with New Years Eve just didn’t feel as *Christmas-like*.

Going to see Beowulf tomorrow night. I want to see it, but the reviews are so mixed I really don’t have a clue what I should expect. I’ll be sure to post a review on Friday. I’m more looking forward to the company than the movie as it is.

I started downloading Six Feet Under (for the second time) and realize I really want to get the full series on DVD. The entire set is just over $200 but that is substantially cheaper than buying them individually. Perhaps eventually. It really is a great series and if you like Michael C Hall as Dexter you will love him as David Fisher, head of the Fisher’s Funeral Home. He has his share of secrets and just a very well rounded character.

If anyone is interested in helping me trim my Christmas Tree this weekend I’ll be bringing it in from Mom’s. It’s terribly depressing to do alone and would love to have some friends over to help out.
