So I’ve been thinking alot lately about what I want to do outside of my career. I’ve been thinking about hobbies, and things I enjoy. I enjoy planning events. The more I help with Tara’s wedding, the more I really think that being an event planner is truly something I would enjoy. So if this is something I want to pursue, where to I start? It would have a relatively low start up cost, I could spread by FB and word of mouth and see how I fare. It’s something to think about, I mean truly. What is going to give me fulfillment outside of my 8 to 5 world. This could be something huge for me if I tackle it in the right way.

I think I need to ponder on it more, but it’s never too late to do what you want.

It is delightfully sunny here today. I didn’t get to enjoy it nearly as much as I would have liked. I went in to work this morning super early, got a bunch of stuff done, then headed home around 10am. I have a brutal head cold, so I opted to bring some work home with me, hydrate and sleep off some of this horrible cold.

I find myself very thoughtful since returning from Toronto. I think I got some closure in regards to some personal matters, which makes me feel a bit lighter. I also feel very good about things coming up in the future. So now I just have to make them happen!

I checked out Chris’s pics from the trip. They are located here. Feel free to check them out. I am still waiting for Hil to post hers. Wish I had taken more, but I was just having too much fun.

Tonight I plan on doing some source material reading. Going to brush up on my knowledge of the New World of Darkness. Some exciting things to come!

I’m thankful for all the good times that were had last weekend. I look forward to the many more to come.

“Coming Home” was so worth it.

Good morning!

I have been meaning to post for a bit now, but I have had absolutely no time. I lie, I meant to do it last night but I got sidetracked on packing.

Just about to eat my breakfast and head to work. Working two days then I am off. I really can’t wait to go to Toronto. It will be nice to see everyone let alone anything else.

I spent this past Saturday at IR. It was fun to catch up with some people I haven’t seen in awhile, watch the guys play some Warhammer. Jay Miller asked me to join in on Star Wars but I just wasn’t in the mood to be more than a spectator sadly.

Saturday night Chris and I went out to Hil’s and assisted with a pre-trip ritual… it involved wax and torture! LOL But we had some laughs and that’s what counts.

I work Monday and Tuesday this week. I anticipate putting in some extra hours either tonight or tomorrow night to make sure everything is in order. I don’t mind that so much. Steve was super awesome to give me the time off!

We leave on Wednesday and get to Toronto at 3:15 on Thursday. Should be a fun filled weekend. I’ll be sure to post pics. I am taking the camera, so I promise some fun shots for sure. I don’t know if we should expect to sleep on the train or just to stay up all night catching up with Jared and telling stories. Either way, the last time we took this trip, I drove for 16 hours, so it will be nice to just sit, and chill.

Brekkie is ready so I gotta run. I’ll try to update again before I go.

X’s and O’s

The week was a bit chaotic. Work was crazy. A big project started, and on Wednesday afternoon, we were confident it would go off without a hitch. Everything was in order. That night when they started anything that could have went wrong did, and trickled out to Friday. I think most things have been corrected for now as best they can be, and we carry on.
I felt a bit overwhelmed at work mid-week, but I survived. Just took my time getting through what was on my desk and in doing so got more done than I thought I would.

My first full week back at WW was fantastic. I watched my hunger and used filling foods and tracked everything. In the end I was down 1.6 pounds! I’m pleased because I didn’t have the chance to get as much exercise in as I would have liked, and it is that ungodly week of the month. So typically I wouldn’t even lose this weeks when I was going before. This should make for a really interesting turn out next week on the scale.

That being said, I am going to weigh in on Thursday night or Friday morning as we are crazy busy next weekend and after being out til 2:30 on Friday night, and my birthday party being Saturday night I don’t want to be out for a meeting at 9am on Saturday morning.

Everything is booked for our trip in March. I’m getting very excited. It has been far too long since the trio has left the province for some fun. This trip we have a companion with us. One that won’t be a drama queen and ruin our trip! Good old Slavesheep will be coming and I’ll be honest I think he is going to make the train ride an adventure. Where he is fun and laughter usually follow.

I am on a quest today to find some new music. With that I’ll also post a new pic of me that was taken my Chris. We were testing lighting, this one is blown out too much, but I just love it anyway!

I have opened live writer a few times over the past week to do an update but I kept closing it. I have spent much of the time actually writing some fiction. Just didn’t feel like writing about real life I guess. So since I last updated we went to see the Buskers on the Boardwalk. Chris took alot of pics and has them posted for your viewing pleasure. It was a nice day, the rain held off and we had a great time! The week that followed was filled with job interviews. It is funny how there is this dead silence for weeks, or at least that’s how it felt, and boom call after call after call.

I went out for my interviews and hoped I had finally landed myself a job. Ironically I did, however the dream job called and wants me to go for a second interview. For a few days I was all "What to do? What to do?" then I decided I would take the offer I was made, but still meet with the GM for the dream job….but the more I think of this I wonder if I want the temptation of changing my mind. I do wonder if the money is competitive to the offer I am going to accept, I wonder if it would be worth NOT working uptown and having to drive west every day. So I’m still in debate with myself on if I should call the other company and tell them something else came along… Thoughts anyone?

So outside of that happy news (that I will be starting work on August 11th!) I reconnected with a very old friend. Norman was a good friend I had met though what was once called the Quispamsis Teen Committee. We were a committee comprised of local teens in place to keep the teens off the street and active in community centres and various other events throughout the valley. Anyhow we met there and remained close friends for a few years. He even took me to my Jr. Prom in the ugliest dress I had ever seen! I believe my mother also told me that night that I walked like and Ox in heels. Love ya Mom! Anyhow we managed to find each other on Facebook and have been talking since. It has been easily 10 years since we spoke and it’s very nice to just pick up where we left off. Very rare you can do that with someone. It’s a simple pleasure.

This past week Jared was up for a few days, we went to see Hellboy II which was visually stunning. The sub plot was a bit cheesy but overall it was an enjoyable flick. Thanks again Jared for takin this broad on a date! We also went to the Boardwalk on Wednesday night to check out Kassy Eatmon a friend of Dale’s from Sobey’s. She is performing in SJ Idol. She has made it through to another week and will be performing again tomorrow night. Unsure if a group is going to check it out or not. The weekend quickly approached. Friday night Barry, Gerry, Chris, Mel, Kyle, Robert, Tara and I all went to O’Leary’s and checked out Signal Hill. I go see them in Hali every chance I get an this was their first visit to the port city. They had a great turn out and put on excellent sets. I also enjoyed having drinks with my cousin and his girlfriend. Good times!

Sunday we went to see The Dark Knight. Again, great movie. NOT WORTH THE OSCAR HYPE! Heath Ledger was awesome as the Joker. Awesome enough to join the ranks of Kevin Spacey for Usual Suspects, Robin Williams for Good Will Hunting or even Christopher Walken for Deer Hunter? I am not so convinced. But we’ll see what happens come Oscar time. Personally I this is performance in Brokeback Mountain was much more worthy than his turn as the Joker. Lynch me if you will, just my opinion.

That brings us to this week. Prepping for the Yard Sale on August 16th, going to do some baking, have coffee with a few friends.

Lastly, last night I made Mayan Hot Chocolate. I had found a few recipes on the net for it and then took the best of what I found and added some of my own touches. Well…I think I’m onto something here. It was so rich and no other word but divine that I must get the chance to make this sampling for friends sooner than later! It was just plain awesome. It is said to help digestive functions, and heat up the libido! Anyhow, I plan on making some for friends sometime soon. If you are interested let me know, and we’ll do it when a group of us are together.

So for now, I’m done with the update. As soon as I get the proper cable for find a card reader I’ll have some new pics to post.

X’s and O’s

God bless Kid Rock… he has blessed us with yet another catchy tune!! The track is titled All Summer Long. I highly recommend adding it to your summer play list.

So I am beyond exhausted. I have been up for exactly 20 hours. I have a million and one things on my brain. I spent the evening at Chris’s playing Rockband, then went over to visit Mel for awhile. I just got home not too long ago. Witnessed an accident on the way home, some drunken punk went off the off ramp and flipped his car. *shakes head* When will people learn not to drink and drive.

Went to WW this morning. I was up exactly one pound. Not the end of the world. I consumed a ton of water yesterday, so I sort of expected it.

Today was Nan’s Tea, and it was delightful! It was really nice to see family we don’t see often, hear a few stories and such. I took some pics. I am going to post an album. Again much thanks to Chris for the lending of the SUPER Canon!

I will post a family album in the next few days. In the mean time, here are two of my more artsy shots that really have nothing to do with the family.

*If you look closely at the second picture, you can see my Nan on the other side of the glass.

It’s a Friday afternoon. Just prepping for supper. I am Barbecuing some chicken for me and steak for Mom and Nan. I also made potato salad with Fat Free Dressing!!! I am very excited, since it feels like forever since I had potato salad.

Dale and Juls came out last night and took me for a drive and we walked down at Meehan’s Cove beach. It was quite warm and it was a nice evening. I appreciate the visit. I was going a little shack wacky at that point.

Spent a chunk of my late night chatting with an far away friend, whom I miss dearly. However I like how we can not speak for awhile and hop right back in step upon talking for a few moments. One of life’s simple pleasures.

I’m really looking forward to bowling tomorrow night, rumour has it we will be having some drinks as well. Bring on mild inebriation!

I’m also looking forward to weigh in tomorrow. Glee. It’s nice to be back on track.

There are a few personal matters that are causing me some stress, however I’ve had lots of time to myself the last few days and I think I have gained some clarity. I have to live my life for me, my happiness and sometimes you just have to stand up for what you believe in no matter what the cost. I think I’m ready to do that. It’s about damn time…

However on that positive note, I’m going to go heat up the BBQ shortly and get ready for some eats!!

Started a D&D 4.0 Campaign with some friends today. It was a really good time. Looking forward to next Monday. Have to find another cookie recipe for next weeks treat. Mind you I only had one cookie, they were for everyone else. Thanks to Steve and Tara for having us over.

Didn’t do anything overly exciting other than that. Had moose meat for supper with some of the salad mom had made. I can’t find info on Moose meat… so I counted it ground sirloin.. hopefully it isn’t too much of a big difference. I had 5oz. It was delish!

Doing awesome with the points, very pleased. The scale has shown me down 2 pounds this morning… so here’s hoping it is a true weight. I have to tell whomever weighs me in Saturday to correct a mistake in my new book. They put in my weight from Saturday and wrote Fresh Start above it. I want to count the 40 plus pounds I’ve lost thanks! lol So I want that in that box, and last weeks weight below. I’m not going to forget all that I have lost. Fresh start in my mind would be if I gained tremendously and wanted to start over… there is no starting over, I’ve lost over 40 pounds and that counts!

I also went to the Nature Park yesterday with Greg.

Here is a cute pic I took of Bigby:
