Storm clouds may scatter and stars may collide.. but I…

Wow… what a whirlwind week! I just got back from Moncton. I was up there for some training on a new product and to meet my other sales person and also one of my other installers. All excellent people. I’m very happy to be working with them. There may be some process issues but it isn’t anything that I can’t organize and facilitate myself. Actually very excited for this opportunity. My boss told me today he feels I am picking things up quick, and adapting and I am an excellent fit. For the first time EVER… I really feel like I belong. I’m very happy about this.

These past two weeks have flown by, each day I find myself wondering where the time went because I am very busy, but also enjoying what I am doing at the same time.

I will be officially back at Weight Watchers on Saturday, Sept 20th. I get paid before then, but I like the Saturday routine. Also will be renewing my gym membership likely on Monday. Very happy about this…. things are going alright it would seem. Need to take care of some over due financial issues that come with being unemployed for a bit, however I should have those mostly cleared up by mid October…. I can’t believe it will be a year since we went to Florida… I can’t wait to go back again. I would like to plan for next October when I have some vacation. I wonder who I can sucker into going with me..

I am rambling.

By the way, all of the Twilight books were amazing. I am counting sleeps until the movie comes out: 62 sleeps!

Bon Jovi Nostalgia and Neil Diamond Skies

Ξ June 19th, 2008 | → 4 Comments | ∇ Uncategorized |

It’s Thursday!

I had to drive my cousin’s girlfriend to work this morning for 7am, so after I dropped her off at the Hospital I went to Rockwood Park for a run. It was enjoyable. I am starting to get my running time up, so that makes me feel good. It was peaceful and there was lost of wildlife to be seen. Including a peculiar creep in a green Seabring. Anyway, it was mildly creepy but I kept on going, just staying clear of secluded paths. I felt refreshed and clear headed afterwards. The only thing that was mildly annoying was getting home full of energy and everyone was still asleep! So I crept into my room turned on some tunes and started reading.

Once everyone was up I got up and at’em. Really put a dent in the stuff for the Yard Sale today. I have alot of stuff to get rid of. I also have a bag of miscellaneous fabric for Hillybean. I’m sure she’ll be happy to have some more odds and ends to add to her lot. This afternoon I think I am going to take down the tent out back, see where the other ones are, and maybe see about selling one of the two 4 man tents I have in the yard sale. There are a few other odds and ends I have to take care of as well.

Before I went downstairs and started slaving today I had the urge to download everything Bon Jovi has ever done. It’s now on my iTunes for enjoyment. Ironically once I started listening to Bon Jovi it reminded me of other music I had back then, so I downloaded some others… my music collection was odd…

Either way I’m enjoying the tunes. It’s blocking out the noise from the paving next door today.

On that note, go enjoy the sunshine!

p.s. I’d love to know who actually reads my site, so when you stop by send me a hello. :D

Rollerblades and Dreamscapes.

Ξ June 17th, 2008 | → 3 Comments | ∇ Uncategorized |

I got a phone call to go rollerblading last night. I had a good time, but did discover how much my rollerblades suck. I’ll be buying myself a new pair as soon as I can afford it. Which hopefully will be sooner and not later.

I’m really tired today. Had alot of nightmares last night. Can’t seem to get passed them. I hate that feeling. Doesn’t help that it’s rainy today so it just makes me want to crawl in bed all day.

We were supposed to go to Sackville tonight however the headliner whom Chris was taking photos of is no longer on the tour… which is gonna suck considering he’s the Main event… so I’m not sure how they are going to spin that for the second half of the tour.

Having a strange week. My head is full of randomness. Need to get it all sorted out.

Makin love out by the lake to our favourite song…

God bless Kid Rock… he has blessed us with yet another catchy tune!! The track is titled All Summer Long. I highly recommend adding it to your summer play list.

So I am beyond exhausted. I have been up for exactly 20 hours. I have a million and one things on my brain. I spent the evening at Chris’s playing Rockband, then went over to visit Mel for awhile. I just got home not too long ago. Witnessed an accident on the way home, some drunken punk went off the off ramp and flipped his car. *shakes head* When will people learn not to drink and drive.

Went to WW this morning. I was up exactly one pound. Not the end of the world. I consumed a ton of water yesterday, so I sort of expected it.

Today was Nan’s Tea, and it was delightful! It was really nice to see family we don’t see often, hear a few stories and such. I took some pics. I am going to post an album. Again much thanks to Chris for the lending of the SUPER Canon!

I will post a family album in the next few days. In the mean time, here are two of my more artsy shots that really have nothing to do with the family.

*If you look closely at the second picture, you can see my Nan on the other side of the glass.

Monday’s Top 10

Ξ May 19th, 2008 | → 1 Comments | ∇ Uncategorized |

This isn’t mine… I yoinked it from www.evilbible.com. However it is rather thought provoking and is meant tongue in cheek.

Top Ten Signs You’re a Fundamentalist Christian

10 - You vigorously deny the existence of thousands of gods claimed by other religions, but feel outraged when someone denies the existence of yours.
9 - You feel insulted and “dehumanized” when scientists say that people evolved from other life forms, but you have no problem with the Biblical claim that we were created from dirt.
8 - You laugh at polytheists, but you have no problem believing in a Triune God.
7 - Your face turns purple when you hear of the “atrocities” attributed to Allah, but you don’t even flinch when hearing about how God/Jehovah slaughtered all the babies of Egypt in “Exodus” and ordered the elimination of entire ethnic groups in “Joshua” including women, children, and trees!
6 - You laugh at Hindu beliefs that deify humans, and Greek claims about gods sleeping with women, but you have no problem believing that the Holy Spirit impregnated Mary, who then gave birth to a man-god who got killed, came back to life and then ascended into the sky.
5 - You are willing to spend your life looking for little loopholes in the scientifically established age of Earth (few billion years), but you find nothing wrong with believing dates recorded by Bronze Age tribesmen sitting in their tents and guessing that Earth is a few generations old.
4 - You believe that the entire population of this planet with the exception of those who share your beliefs — though excluding those in all rival sects - will spend Eternity in an infinite Hell of Suffering.  And yet consider your religion the most “tolerant” and “loving.”

3 - While modern science, history, geology, biology, and physics have failed to convince you otherwise, some idiot rolling around on the floor speaking in “tongues” may be all the evidence you need to “prove” Christianity.
2 - You define 0.01% as a “high success rate” when it comes to answered prayers.  You consider that to be evidence that prayer works.  And you think that the remaining 99.99% FAILURE was simply the will of God.
1 - You actually know a lot less than many atheists and agnostics do about the Bible, Christianity, and church history - but still call yourself a Christian.

I’d like to thank the petite blonde for her smile…wit and giving me life.

It’s that time of year again when we thank our mothers for rearing us, putting up with your misgivings and our lack of social graces. I am being more sarcastic than I am cynical. I wish that on Mother’s Day I could show my mom her potential. Let her revel in a life that isn’t so stressful, see that she doesn’t have to live in the life she does, that joy and happiness aren’t a thing that she fondly remembers. I can only hope before stress ages her too much, she wakes up, remembers who she used to be, what living life is like and gets back on the horse and stops living her life for someone else.

I think we should recognize out Mom’s everyday. They help shape us into the men and women we become, good and bad. Being a mother is a very special gift, and should I ever have the opportunity to have a child, my mother’s day will be spent with them, cherishing them for coming into my life, and allowing me to be their mother.

Onto something much less sappy… I’m officially down 51 pounds!! I can’t believe it! So proud of myself today. I just cannot wait til my finances are in better shape to go back to my WW meetings and see all the friends I made. I miss them so much. It’s nice to be over the 50 pound hurdle, it means I am more than halfway to my goal… in fact something like 38 pounds left… so close… I know I can do it by Christmas if I stay focused.

Living at home is manageable. I’m surviving. I’m having a difficult time scheduling things in though. Heading into the city 3 times a day just doesn’t work for me, so I have to try to fit as much in during one trip as I can, which is causing some stress on my relationship with my boyfriend. I can only hope he realizes it has nothing to do with him, and more to do with hours in the day and lack of money in my pocket.

I’m glad summer is just around the corner, I’m glad I have had job interviews. Now I wait to hear back on which opportunities will be offered to me.

On that note, I am going to go have lunch with my Nan, and perhaps head into the city a bit later. (Not too sure yet)

Again, Happy Mothers Day, to the mothers that were, are and yet to be.

XO

The Plague and Green

Ξ May 6th, 2008 | → 1 Comments | ∇ Uncategorized |

I am currently recovering from the worst flu I’ve ever had. I’ll thank Tara but I know she spread it with love. ;-) The painting is coming along nicely. Need another coat then we’ll see how close to finished I am.

Went into the city and had coffee with Gerry tonight. We really haven’t had alot of time to see each other, so we were talking about how we can manage to see each other more. So it’s time to put some plans in action!

Haven’t seen Iron Man yet. Hoping to this weekend. Can’t wait!

No place like the gltz club

Ξ May 2nd, 2008 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Uncategorized |

Hey world! Remember me? I’m that girl who is sad she doesn’t live in the city anymore. *pout*

But I am managing, gas prices aside. I’ve had a busy week of painting. I had some help on Wednesday and Thursday from Juls. I had planned on cracking open the Pepper Grass (aka Kermit Green) today however I needed to do some touch ups on some trim and it needs to dry. It looks like tomorrow I’ll get up early and see if I can get some painting done before I go in for Free Comic Book Day (FCBD). I may meet some folks for brekkie and then I want to go down to Harbour Station/Long Warf and watch the 3 on 3 Street Hockey Tourney. Gerry is playing on the team the *Knights* if you want to swing by and check it out!

Saturday night we were going to go see Abby Road at the Blue Olive however I think with Gerry being exhausted and a hockey game on, we may just stay in or at a friends place, enjoy some homemade lasagna and some playoff hockey!

The weight loss hasn’t stopped. I am down, not by alot, but I’m not gaining and that makes me happy. Needless to say, I have 38… count it 38 pounds til my first goal and 3 pounds til my June 1st goal! I am pleased. I think all the painting is burning off the calories!

Anyhow, my mother and Nan are currently grilling me about the purpose of a blog as I sit and update it here at Nan’s kitchen table.

Generations apart I tell ya!

Moving on out to the east side… really east…

Ξ April 26th, 2008 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Uncategorized |

Well I am all moved out to the valley. Living out of boxes for two more weeks as my room gets finished. Need to lay the flooring as well as get the primary paint done. The ceiling, trim and closet are done, as are my dressers which turned out not to be so purple after all. (which is a good thing)

It doesn’t feel like home. I think I’m scared it isn’t going to…I know this change is good and will help me out in the long run…it will just take some getting used to. I have all these worries about being out here in the Valley and not being included with everyone. Ridiculous I’m sure, but it’s how I felt yesterday and today.

I am very thankful to Barry, Chris, Jenn Duke and even little miss Marilyn for helping with the move today. It took a bit longer than expected, a few less hands than expected but we managed to do it unscathed, less Jenn’s knuckle scraping. So with this change comes other big decisions. My contract with CRA is up on Wednesday…so that leaves me on EI until I find something I WANT to do. By no means is it giving me a license to slack, but it is giving me a bit of room to figure out what I want to do, be it find another call centre or admin job or really invest the time and energy into going back to school and taking something I am interested in. We’ll see what the next few weeks hold.

However something sort of neat about the move is I have a BBQ and a backyard. Hopefully at least once this summer I can have some people out for a nice BBQ.

As a side note, www.kijiji.ca is awesome. If you are selling anything, and I mean anything, post it there. The turn around on interested buyers and sale is quick and it’s a very easy site to use.

On that note, I am going to get cleaned up. I have a *double date* tonight with my boy and Chris and Hil.
