So what I quoted the Beatles..

Starting back at WW on Saturday. I’m pretty excited. I’ve already started to purge stuff from the house that I don’t want around and have made my first grocery list! I’m pretty excited. Something clicked in my head over the past few weeks and I know now I’m back in the headspace to continue on this journey. Expect posts here about my exercise, weight and perhaps even measurements. It’s another form of accountability.

Don’t worry I’ll share the yummy healthy recipes too!

In other news, we are still anxiously awaiting the birth of my God-daughter. She is due anytime. I can’t wait to meet her! Summer is almost over…wtf? I can’t believe it! But I did get to Kings Landing, we had a few fun gatherings of friends. Over all, a decent summer. Now I’m looking forward to fall clothes shopping! It’s my favorite season.

G and I plan on rounding up folks for apple picking. Looking to do that in mid September. Found a few U-Picks, one most notably in Kingston so not too far away.

So I have a small dilemma.. I have 3 days vacation left.

What should I do with them?

I’ve been busy over the summer. Well it feels that way anyway. Between movies, birthdays and summer like fun seems the only time I get to relax is the occasional Sunday. Aha, and look it’s a Sunday!

In recent weeks I’ve gone to see Inception, which I highly recommend to everyone! It does make the Matrix look like a Dick and Jane book! So it’s money well spent, perhaps even for a second time to decipher more of it.

I took in the Buskers on Friday night with friends, they were enjoyable as they are every year. It was great because the weather really held up for them 3 out of their 4 days here.

We celebrated Pam’s birthday last weekend. Everyone had  a great time.

So now as we creep in to August…I’m in Halifax the end of this week to help Slavesheep and his family move back to NB. Going down Thursday night, coming back Saturday. I look forward to helping and getting out of town for a few days.

On the 14th, we will be having a dual babyshower for Vicki and Juls and then a Welcome back party/Birthday party for Jared in the evening. Going to be a wild day, but honestly I can’t wait for it! Be nice to get us all together for such a fun occasion!

So as you can see busy summer. Let me post some pics for you to enjoy! Cause… I FINALLY got a new camera!!

Well the long weekend is almost over! I can’t believe it. It flew by. I did get to spend some time with friends and it was decent. I do find myself a little burnt out from last night, but I hope to recover just by having some me time this week.

Week one down of eating healthy, and I have lost 5lbs even. Can’t believe it. For about two months I went completely off the rails but due to the previously mentioned tummy troubles I had to jump back on the wagon. Honestly I haven’t felt better about it. My body did the talking and I listened.

After losing 50lbs… it’s a mental block to get passed anything. But I think I realize the bigger picture now.

This week promises to be busy work wise. Outside of work, I want to get some walking in and perhaps a bit of creative writing. I’ve been thinking of a few ideas for some creative writing projects and I really need to take the time to put into them. I remember when I used to crank the tunes, sit at my computer for hours and write and write and write…that doesn’t happen anymore. In part I think it’s because I don’t have a proper desk for my computer… which prevents long periods of sitting at it (this is good and bad).

Maybe I need to revisit how my space is laid out and what I can do to improve it.

On that note, I am off to enjoy this beautiful Sunday afternoon.

Trying to keep up with blogging might be more fun soon. I’m on the hunt for a new point and click camera. Have an idea of what I want, but would like to shop around first.

Summer is here, and it’s been nice since April, I hope that means it’s going to be nice through to the fall… with little rain and lots of rays. I can hope.

Work had a short lull and since then I have been crazy busy. Trying to stay organized when I have 10 tasks coming at me from all directions is difficult but it’s also been a lesson in learning to delegate work to others. I don’t like doing it, but it’s a fact of the workplace. Or so I’m told.

I have an extra long weekend ahead. I took Friday off which means I only work three days this week, and have a 4 day weekend. Looking forward to the extra downtime. No big plans, but looking forward to having some fun during that time. Hopefully I will decide on a new camera before then!

July is shaping up to be quite busy. Between the holiday weekend, Weddings and Slavesheep and family moving it’s going to make the time fly.

Moondagger, Fur and I are going to see Eclipse in a midnight showing on Tuesday night, then I have a Dr’s appointment on Wednesday morning… then I’m off to work. Yeah, I’m a sucker. Oh well, then I’m off for 4 days. Tee hee.

Another beautiful day. I’m indoors for the moment. Going to venture outside soon to clean out Lola. Heading to Halifax next weekend and I want her to be nice and tidy for the trip.
I have some tight deadlines at work this week and I anticipate that I will be busy and stressed Monday and Tuesday. Hopefully by the time Wednesday get here it will be much much better. Finding out Friday we have a tender due Tuesday… didn’t make my day AT ALL, on top of proofing a quote for 60 workstations… eye crossing hell. But it’s all in a days work right?
Ran Requiem last night, appears that everyone had a really good time. Glad. I wasn’t feeling up to running a game but I had some ideas and they worked out better than I had hoped. A big thank you to my players who made it awesome for everyone.
Been thinking alot lately about body image, food and friends. I think the key to personal happiness is truly being comfortable in your own skin. When I was younger before I ever lost any weight I was very comfortable in my own skin. After I lost some weight I started to remember what I looked like before I lost any and how I look now and think I still look like I did then, and suddenly boom, that confidence is gone!
Well, let me tell you…it’s not easy. Yes I’d like to be smaller, but do I cry myself to sleep over it? No.
Do guys still hit on me, yes! LOL
Do I still get treated with respect and show confidence in what I do, most definitely.
Just some reflections that I thought were worth mentioning.
I said I would try to post here more. I’m going to continue to do so.

It’s been awhile. I really need to vow more time to this because I in fact enjoy it.

I enjoyed a celebration of my birthday last weekend with friends. It was a little more low key than previous parties. I think there were a few elements that were different and just created a different environment. Not a bad time, just a different time.

43 sleeps until we go to Trois Riviere for CAINE. I am really looking forward to going this year. That being said there is a really good friend who can’t make it, and I am disappointed, however I’ll just have to find an excuse to get up to Toronto, or convince him to get his ass to Montreal next year. There are lots of big things going on Camarilla wise. People running for national positions, the OWoD relaunch, and of course our bid for 2012. All keeping us excited and, truly keeping 2012 and TR this year as the hottest topics in awhile.

I find game discussions frustrating sometimes when I have them with my friends. I have friends who, in their own right are very intelligent. They have a good grasp of rules, history etc. However when debating with them, no one can ever be right but them. I find it frustrating because we all complain of some people and how they refuse to hear or compromise with other players, when really everyone is like that including us/them, the only difference is we have more charisma, so it isn’t interpreted as stand offish. They have their own way of thinking and anything that challenges that must be absolutely wrong. I’m not saying I’m right, I’m just saying we all need to open up to what others have to say sometimes, because charisma or not, we are supposed to feel like equals, that is what keeps us humble, that is what keeps us working well together. When that dynamic changes, people get offended, heck people’s feelings get hurt. So overall, I’m not ranting here so much about a problem, but to give a solution that we ALL should be a bit more open minded, and we all should try to take the time to clearly understand others, opposed to shooting down something and asking questions later. We could all learn something from it.

Outside of Camarilla stuff, work has been going well. I’m still crazy busy. My boss came back the end of January and re-assumed his role and I got a promotion. :)

This made me very happy. Since then I am busier but in a good way. Truly though my job now requires more time management than I have ever been used to, so it is taking some adjustment. There is some odd tension in the office, I know what it’s about, and I do hope it passes.

Great stress relief recently has been the gym. I really enjoy going, I really enjoy the workout, and it’s helping me towards my weight goal. I can’t complain. I do wish I lived in the city so it wouldn’t be such a trip if I just wanted to go to the gym on a Non work day, but otherwise I really like the the AC has to offer. I hope to be good to do some real running this summer. Wish me luck.

This weekend ahead we have Robert’s 2nd Birthday…I’m still debating what to get him for a prezzie. I have some ideas. I can’t believe he’s going to be 2 already… damn I’m feeling old.

Well Blog….we have a love hate relationship don’t we? I really enjoy having you, but lately I’ve had no time to sit down and write anything. Let’s see… The best Manager I can say I’ve ever had decided to leave and move on to other adventures the first of October. Since then, my professional life has undergone some huge changes. I have continued on in my current role and have assumed all of his duties managing one of our largest accounts. It has been trying, and down right frustrating at times. I keep trying to maintain a balance. I saw what it did to him and I refuse to let it get that far with me. I believe with some organization and some time management I can keep everything afloat until I either move over to do that job full time, or someone else comes along to take it over from me.

Outside of that, Tara and Steve’s wedding was wonderful. I baked and frosted (with Julie’s help) over 150 Red Velvet Cupcakes. Only a few weeks before that Julie gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Danika Nicole… she is adorable, and I am her Auntie! I am so proud, I now have another little one to spoil! Keep ‘em coming gang!

So everything has just flown by since Bill and Jody visited. It’s one month until Christmas. I can’t believe it. So much has changed this year, and so much as stayed the same. With so many professional changes, I hope to make some changes in my personal life in the coming year. Finding a new place, going for my motorcycle license and perchance even buying my first bike. I’m excited for 2010…

Today marks my one year anniversary at my place of employment. The year has flown by. More importantly a full year has passed since I started. No work shortage, no end of contract, nadda. My one year probation is over. I have broken my contract work curse. Since 7 years at Xerox and  a few years with Exxon I have not had the luck for finding something that wasn’t contract or had a random happenstance of work shortage. Not that it was ever really a curse. But today, I woke up a bit proud that the hard working thriving woman I used to be, obviously brought her A game for a year, and continues to do so.

So today, YAY me. :)

Scooby camping weekend commences tomorrow evening. I can’t wait. I’ve been going non-stop for a few weeks. Both work and play with no relax time make me really stressed out! So this weekend hopefully will be laid back enough that it will fill the gap for now. Next weekend is another long weekend and the only thing I have planned is The Princess Bride at 11:30pm on Saturday night. It is a fundraise for Impossible Realities. Tickets are $7.50 and can be picked up at Reads/United.

Things are coming together for the work move. I still have a few small appliances to pick up. I plan on taking care of that an evening next week. I did get to see the new space yesterday. They were hanging the lights. It looks much larger now that the walls are up, it’s painted and floor is laid. I’ll be interested to see how it all comes together next week. It would be nice if it all went smoothly.

I keep scoping the apartment section of Kijiji. Might help if I had enough money put away for a damage deposit. I gotta do that…

IR in two weeks, mini vacay for me in two weeks.

I can’t wait.

So as Impossible Realities approaches so does the time when we can get into the Kent Theatre and figure out exactly how we are going to decorate for Steve and Tara’s wedding. I’m anxious and excited. We have so many great ideas, now it’s just a matter for them to come together and not forget anything. I think out biggest challenge will be getting fabric draped as we like it and covering spots we want to hide in the place. We’ll see how it all comes together. I have an idea of how it will right now but I think once we get in there in September we might have some new ideas too.

I am taking this maid of honour thing seriously!

This weekend is a bit crazy…well, every weekend up until IR is. But I’ll get though. I have some days off in September to spend with friends, so for that I am thankful.

Off to work… wanted to write more but time got away from me this morning. Have a great Thursday! :)
