It’s been awhile. I really need to vow more time to this because I in fact enjoy it.

I enjoyed a celebration of my birthday last weekend with friends. It was a little more low key than previous parties. I think there were a few elements that were different and just created a different environment. Not a bad time, just a different time.

43 sleeps until we go to Trois Riviere for CAINE. I am really looking forward to going this year. That being said there is a really good friend who can’t make it, and I am disappointed, however I’ll just have to find an excuse to get up to Toronto, or convince him to get his ass to Montreal next year. There are lots of big things going on Camarilla wise. People running for national positions, the OWoD relaunch, and of course our bid for 2012. All keeping us excited and, truly keeping 2012 and TR this year as the hottest topics in awhile.

I find game discussions frustrating sometimes when I have them with my friends. I have friends who, in their own right are very intelligent. They have a good grasp of rules, history etc. However when debating with them, no one can ever be right but them. I find it frustrating because we all complain of some people and how they refuse to hear or compromise with other players, when really everyone is like that including us/them, the only difference is we have more charisma, so it isn’t interpreted as stand offish. They have their own way of thinking and anything that challenges that must be absolutely wrong. I’m not saying I’m right, I’m just saying we all need to open up to what others have to say sometimes, because charisma or not, we are supposed to feel like equals, that is what keeps us humble, that is what keeps us working well together. When that dynamic changes, people get offended, heck people’s feelings get hurt. So overall, I’m not ranting here so much about a problem, but to give a solution that we ALL should be a bit more open minded, and we all should try to take the time to clearly understand others, opposed to shooting down something and asking questions later. We could all learn something from it.

Outside of Camarilla stuff, work has been going well. I’m still crazy busy. My boss came back the end of January and re-assumed his role and I got a promotion. :)

This made me very happy. Since then I am busier but in a good way. Truly though my job now requires more time management than I have ever been used to, so it is taking some adjustment. There is some odd tension in the office, I know what it’s about, and I do hope it passes.

Great stress relief recently has been the gym. I really enjoy going, I really enjoy the workout, and it’s helping me towards my weight goal. I can’t complain. I do wish I lived in the city so it wouldn’t be such a trip if I just wanted to go to the gym on a Non work day, but otherwise I really like the the AC has to offer. I hope to be good to do some real running this summer. Wish me luck.

This weekend ahead we have Robert’s 2nd Birthday…I’m still debating what to get him for a prezzie. I have some ideas. I can’t believe he’s going to be 2 already… damn I’m feeling old.

Well Blog….we have a love hate relationship don’t we? I really enjoy having you, but lately I’ve had no time to sit down and write anything. Let’s see… The best Manager I can say I’ve ever had decided to leave and move on to other adventures the first of October. Since then, my professional life has undergone some huge changes. I have continued on in my current role and have assumed all of his duties managing one of our largest accounts. It has been trying, and down right frustrating at times. I keep trying to maintain a balance. I saw what it did to him and I refuse to let it get that far with me. I believe with some organization and some time management I can keep everything afloat until I either move over to do that job full time, or someone else comes along to take it over from me.

Outside of that, Tara and Steve’s wedding was wonderful. I baked and frosted (with Julie’s help) over 150 Red Velvet Cupcakes. Only a few weeks before that Julie gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Danika Nicole… she is adorable, and I am her Auntie! I am so proud, I now have another little one to spoil! Keep ‘em coming gang!

So everything has just flown by since Bill and Jody visited. It’s one month until Christmas. I can’t believe it. So much has changed this year, and so much as stayed the same. With so many professional changes, I hope to make some changes in my personal life in the coming year. Finding a new place, going for my motorcycle license and perchance even buying my first bike. I’m excited for 2010…

Today marks my one year anniversary at my place of employment. The year has flown by. More importantly a full year has passed since I started. No work shortage, no end of contract, nadda. My one year probation is over. I have broken my contract work curse. Since 7 years at Xerox and  a few years with Exxon I have not had the luck for finding something that wasn’t contract or had a random happenstance of work shortage. Not that it was ever really a curse. But today, I woke up a bit proud that the hard working thriving woman I used to be, obviously brought her A game for a year, and continues to do so.

So today, YAY me. :)

Scooby camping weekend commences tomorrow evening. I can’t wait. I’ve been going non-stop for a few weeks. Both work and play with no relax time make me really stressed out! So this weekend hopefully will be laid back enough that it will fill the gap for now. Next weekend is another long weekend and the only thing I have planned is The Princess Bride at 11:30pm on Saturday night. It is a fundraise for Impossible Realities. Tickets are $7.50 and can be picked up at Reads/United.

Things are coming together for the work move. I still have a few small appliances to pick up. I plan on taking care of that an evening next week. I did get to see the new space yesterday. They were hanging the lights. It looks much larger now that the walls are up, it’s painted and floor is laid. I’ll be interested to see how it all comes together next week. It would be nice if it all went smoothly.

I keep scoping the apartment section of Kijiji. Might help if I had enough money put away for a damage deposit. I gotta do that…

IR in two weeks, mini vacay for me in two weeks.

I can’t wait.

So as Impossible Realities approaches so does the time when we can get into the Kent Theatre and figure out exactly how we are going to decorate for Steve and Tara’s wedding. I’m anxious and excited. We have so many great ideas, now it’s just a matter for them to come together and not forget anything. I think out biggest challenge will be getting fabric draped as we like it and covering spots we want to hide in the place. We’ll see how it all comes together. I have an idea of how it will right now but I think once we get in there in September we might have some new ideas too.

I am taking this maid of honour thing seriously!

This weekend is a bit crazy…well, every weekend up until IR is. But I’ll get though. I have some days off in September to spend with friends, so for that I am thankful.

Off to work… wanted to write more but time got away from me this morning. Have a great Thursday! :)

Alright, so here I am. New theme, new face to my blog and a renewed committment to do some more blogging! In the coming months I’ll be busy. The office is moving into a new location, with all new furniture, which I am very excited about, and it comes iwth moderate stress in the scheduling side of things. As well, we have Impossible Realities creeping up on us. Friends from out of town will be joining us, which I am more than just a little excited about. We will have the party of the YEAR on Friday night for Steve, Chris D and Chris W’s Birthdays, as well as just a party because we have our friends visiting! Then before we know it, we will be buried in black and red for Tara and Steve’s wedding. Lots of exciting things coming up aside from that too. I am going to attempt knitting, and at least promise to make myself knit one scarf for winter. We’ll see how it goes.

More to come…when I’m not at my desk. ;-)

It isn’t really a snow day. I’m working, just in comfy fuzzy clothes at my kitchen table. I’m thankful that my job is flexible like that and wouldn’t frown upon me deciding not to risk my life and car to get to the west side to work. I have the ability to do everything at home I can in the office due to my lovely remote connection. *happy sigh* The bonus is, I am doubly productive because I don’t have a phone ringing beside me! lol

I am hoping it clears up though later in the day because I wanted to get some zucchini and cabbage to try this WW Garden Veggie soup. I’m eager to see how filling it is.

So I promised myself I wouldn’t look at the scale at all this week while I eat right and follow plan. My only promise to myself was to track everything and try my best to avoid empty foods. So far so good. I found yesterday because of the filling foods I ate, I had 7 points left at 8pm. So I made a small bowl of cream of wheat as a snack, it was hot and satisfying.

I read some happy fabulous news about Indi! Congrats hon! So excited and happy for you! I am on the countdown until the trip, I can’t wait. Tickets are booked, hotel is booked. It will be nice to get away for the first time in a few years. It will be even better to see some loved and missed faces!

On that note I am going to get to work.
Enjoy your Monday everyone!

It’s Friday!!! Thankfully!
Though this week did go by fast for me having had the plague all week. I’m feeling better today. I just have a bit of a cough so I’ll survive.

A friend from work let me borrow Mamma Mia last night, since everyone was watching it I figured I’d see what the chatter was all about. It was pretty decent. So decent in fact I went and downloaded the entire soundtrack and put it on my iPod! So today at work just imagine me dancing around to SOS and Dancing Queen while doing orders. Oh it’s going to be grand!

Or maybe I’m just losing my mind!!! Which would be fun too.

Since taking on new responsibilities at work, I have been very busy, but my days have gone by relatively fast.

I have this urge to start knitting…but I don’t have the first clue on how to learn how to knit the things I want. I think it’s time to do some research and make a trip to good old Michael’s. Please hold back the hold lady jokes… I want to knit cool things. :P

Think I am going to skip town next weekend weather permitting. More details to follow. :P

Time to get to work, and day dream of the LAN party tomorrow! Yay a full day of geekness!
